Blue rocks

Beautiful bird!

I know that Jim Cox got his Blue Rocks from Gordie........so thats old news for me LOL!

Crossing a barred rock roo over blue hens will give blue barred, it would be cool to see that color in plymouth rocks. If you cross a blue roo on barred hens you will get sexlinks, the males will be blue barred or barred and the females will be blue or black.

Thats what I plan on doing; Im trying to get some nice barred hens, and maybe a barred roo if I can get one of good enough quality. Should be fun.

Look at my boy now!!!

Halo, if I am not mistaken, I think its a pullet, not a cockeral! Sorry to burst your bubble!

Her neck feathers and tail feathers are not pointed, more rounded like a pullet. Congrats!

My blue rocks are due to hatch this coming week. I hope they're as nice as yours......I guess since they'll be related they should be!!

These are Gordie's Blue Rocks, the parents of my Blue Rocks and Jim's Blue Rocks.

Great pics, Ewe. Im still hopeful hes a boy, only because he's very young yet, I think he was hatched end of February. He has 2 other splash and one blue siblings that Im positive are hens...they dont even have the start of a comb or a wattle. Ive added a picture of one of the splash hens for comparison. Let me know what you think.
