Help, i am going to incubate some blue scaled quail soon and i need to know how long it takes them to hatch. many say 23, but some say 22 and 21. i've even heard 24. i need to set them on a specific date so they can hatch on a specific date. anyone know?

when dealing with living creatures this is kina hard to pull off if your bator cuts off while you are at work and then comes back on this can delay hatching if you bator is running warm for a day or do this can speed your hatch along, hatching is probably a bit more of an art then a science LOL the longer you mess with critters the more they teach you about how little you know but at least they keep teaching if you pay attention. when Bobs start hatching they come the coupla times I hatched partridge they start hatching on day 22 and it takes them until past day 23 to finally get out

my gambles were kina slow too starting day 23 and finally got here a day later

is that at a constant 99.75 temperature? because i think incubating at 99.5 makes them hatch on day 23-24 and incubating them at 99.75 makes them hatch 22-23. is that true?

Blue Scale hens are good layer's and it is not uncommon for a hen to lay 50-60 eggs a year. The eggs, which have irregular light to dark brown spots, are larger in size and less pointed than those laid by Bobwhite hens. Eggs are collected daily and stored small end down on quail flats until they are set. They are set once a week in a GQF 1402 incubator with an electronic thermostat. The temperature is set at 99.5 degrees F. During incubation we try to maintain the humidity at 83 degrees F. web bulb. Incubation takes 23 days.
