Blue scale

I have some California quail already and I am interested in adding some blue scale Quail to my covey. but I've been wondering do I need a permit to keep blue scale Quail that's different than Californian quail permit or do I need one at all for them? Any info helps

Where are you located? All states have their own regulations/permit requirements. Most likely if you have a permit to raise California Valley quail, it will cover the Blue Scale quail as well.

in texas the permit is for transporting them but also you have to get pulled over for therm to check so i ordered the ones i used to have online. also in texas i belive one license covers most native birds

When I researched on Google permits for blue scale Quail it just came up with laws and restrictions for California quail so I have no idea if it's legal to keep them or not or what I need

look at your permit and see what it says also cali sucks.
the texas parks an wildlife site makes it pretty easy to. tell what permit covers what so just go to what ever the cali versionm of that is and look around.

My understanding is that you do not need a domesticated game bird breeder license for blue scaled quail, because they do not live here in California; the license only covers native and naturalized gamebirds. You only need the license for your California quail.
