Blue shell - neat!

White store bought egg, pastel green EE egg from our hen, pastel blue/green egg from ( I think) one of my new young (6-7 weeks) Coturnix .

What makes this color shell happen for quail ? I know it's happened to other folks, just not to me before!

Can I expect others or is this a "starting up " fluke?

I've gotten 2 white/beige ones since putting the birds outside. and my son found a button egg today half green half blue. lol...

He wants me to take pics of it.

i've gotten blue eggs before, but i think its just paint messing up. I know there are a few people on here that has a bird that lays a blue egg everytime...its just what it does, i guess the lever is stuck on blue and not brown.
