blue slate deal!!

guy called saw my card! I have 7 blue slate toms I would like to sell them and I went to the auction this week end they sold for 10 dollars each! I would take the same. I said, well where can I see them! right here in my yard he said, I stopped by, what I saw was 3 toms and 4 hens all puffed and strutting acting butch! he started the pitch, I raised turkey all my life,blah ,blah, blah, he said if they were hens ,I have a standing order at 30 bucks each you know hens don't strut, ok then, I will take them all, paid him 70 dollars ,loaded the truck and came home!!! pulled out the toms,added the 4 hens to my blue slate breeding program!! have a guy coming for the toms all three 75 bucks! made 5 bucks and paid gas money for the hens about 7 bucks and my time of course I get alot of call on those cards! I wasn't at first then added BUY ,SELL,TRADE that did it , I love turkey experts ( sold birds cheap and could not sex as adults) tom!!

Whew, our turkeys go for closer to $40 at the auction here.

when spring hits here, calls come rolling in, hey I need a hen, hey I need a tom, during laying season these hens are worth a small fortune and in great demand!I'am still buying hens myself ! I have been going to 3 auctions a week looking for hens, I will pay 60 bucks for the right bird! the point is as a turkey farmer I'am looking at birds now for spring of 2011, cause sometimes to put a breeding program together it takes 2 years! and I have learned just cause they say its a bourbon red doesn't mean it is! ( it was a black spainsh hen I bought her any way) good luck!! tom!!!

once they know you got the birds,calls come in from everywhere, had a call from wyomming, wanting a bourbon red tom , I had one, 20 bucks, you go ahead and make fun of the ole guru, and when your done call me I will sell you some nice turkeys ! like they say its not alcohol or drugs its just poultry!wonder if theres a 12 step program for poultry!!! tom!!! it does get you high!
