Blue Slate Turkey - gobbling at 3 weeks?!

Is it possible?

My wicked cute blue slate poult was surprised by my son and I when we both entered the garage from either end (he's living in the garage w/ two guineas right now until he's fully feathered) and I heard this crazy gobble noise and his little fanny feathers were standing up and fanned.

Now I know male turkeys gobble but isn't it early? He hatched 9/21.

my turkey poults make all sorts of crazy noises and some border on gobbling too. it is pretty funny. i even have one little guy trying to show his fan already, and he's just about 6-8 weeks!!! he does the 'shuffle' getting the others in line!

i do have a blue slate that is about 4 weeks that still sings his 'peep, peep, peep, peep' song and will follow me wherever i go. they are soooo cool!
