Blue Sumatra breeding

How do they make blue sumatras , by breeding standard black with white something else. And where is spash, sorry for asking dumb questions but we have black and blue and was wondering why blue wasn't standard.

Blue to blue mating produces....50% blues....25% blacks...and 25% splash....

Black to blue produces about 80% blacks and 20% blues.

A blue is basically a black that is too light, at least the first few were. They didn't come about by crossing in white or anything like that. Somewhere along the line somebody may have crossed in a blue Pheonix or something along those lines, but mostly it came around naturally.
