Bought hatching eggs from an ebay seller. He claims these are blue wyandotte. I am guessing buff since he also sells those. They are a lot more yellow to the eye than the picture portrayed. Please ignore her dirty toes. She was eating when I interrupted. Thanks in advance for the input!

Aww, what a cutie

It looks more buff than blue to me., though. Could it be a splash? I learned from my blue andalusians that a blue bird bred to a blue bird will produce only 50% blue offspring, with 25% black and 25% splash. My splash girls were yellow as chicks.

Not one speck of any hint of blue or grey. Here are more pictures. Okay, that last one probably isn't helpful but she's cute.

He looks like a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte to me. The most beautiful Wyandotte in my opinion. It could also be Buff-Laced.

Sorry that I couldn't give you the answer you wanted. I am only being honest. I posted some pics so you can decide what you think but I think BLR is the chick you have.

Here are some BLR Wyandotte chicks:

This is what a Blue Wyandotte chick should look like:

loads of beautiful babies, but I am amazed you can see the type of baby you have just by the pics, I only know they look like chicks, the only reason I know what I have is I was told!

still, gorgeous though!

Here's an update at 4 weeks.

Definitely not blue but they are sweet so they may get to stay. Planning an addition on the coop already. I think I need to hop over to the chick addicts thread.

How many chicks did you hatch? Were all of them yellow? If they all were yellow I'd say they are buffs. If a few were yellow with some blues I'd agree a possibility of a splash. Thats how the blue gene works. Unless there are only Blue to Black breedings or splash to black you will get Blue Black and splash. Hard to see the real color in the last photo. Are the feathers coming in red or white? White feathers could be a splash, red or buff feathers it's a buff. I have never had that color chick with my Blue LACED red Wyandottes even with the splash babies. Even the ones that turn out splash still have a blue hue to them and some brown as chicks since they lace out mahogany with white lacing.
