Blue x blue

Does blue x blue in any breed have a chance of splash out come?
With chickens, blue x blue gives a 25% chance of splash, 50% chance of blue, 25% chance of black.

This applies to chickens of any breed or any mix.

But it only applies to the blue gene, not the other genes on the chicken. The blue gene changes all black to blue or splash. Depending on what other genes the chicken has, you might actually get splash all over, or splash laced red, or splash wheaten, or splash tailed buff, or various other things, with the "splash" part being blue or black on other chicks from the same parents.

Thank you. I have a blue Amerucana rooster and a few blue hens. The rest are black. So trying to get some splash to add in

In that case, hatch eggs from the blue hens, and you should get some splash chicks along with blue ones and black ones. About 1/4 of chicks should be splash, with about half of them being males-- so if you specifically want splash pullets, you might want to set quite a few eggs.

When you have any splash at all, it is easier to breed more.
Blue x splash gives about half splash and half blue.
And if you breed splash x splash, all chicks should be splash.
