In the UK there apparently exists a type of chicken called a "bluebell"--some type of hybrid like a black or red star I think. I really think they are pretty! Are they available in the US under another name? They are a pretty blue/grey color and I'd love to learn more about them--one of my 2 month old chicks is a black star and she is really surprising me with what a sweetie she is! ( Also I hear she's going to lay alot of eggs.) So I am loving the idea of the pretty bluebells, especially if they are like the black stars! Any info is appreciated! Thanks

I googled them and they are a hybrid developed by "meadowsweet" and are also called "meadowsweet bluebells" I am thinking meadowsweet is sort if a british equivelent to ISA (as in ISA browns)? I was just wondering if a similar chicken was available in the us!

editing---I found a link with an example: www.anniehallspoultry.co.uk/chickens/ you have to scroll down a bit. They are a Marans /RIR cross . Again I wonder if they're available in the US under another name?

I don't think I've heard of them...But I've seen Easter Eggers that look similiar to what your describing.

She does look rather easter eggish doesn't she? Maybe they will catch on here. I just think that's a nice looking chicken, and if she was like my black star----voila---my next pet chicken!

It seems like maybe in England hybrid are pretty popular!
