Does anyone know at what age is a roostet to old to fertize the eggs. He gets the chicken but no luck with baby chicks?

How old is the rooster? What breed is he and the hens? If the hens have excessively fluffy backsides he may not be able to get to the spot and it is also possible that the hens are rejecting the sperm. They expel it immediately after mating. Also, how many hens are you keeping with the rooster? Sorry about all the questions!
