BO changes, close to POL (blog style) [updated - first egg]

Here is the promised photo. For some reason, Puddin' didn't want to stand still! This is the only shot that was in focus and actually had her head in it!

Puddin's comb and wattles are much redder in person, the camera bleached them out a bit.

Shaggy, I have to say that the comb and wattle development when it occured was really fast. It felt like almost overnight.

As a comp, here is a photo of my BO who first laid on her 24-week birthday. It looks as if they all develop at different rates:

the second one started laying yesterday .... or maybe it was the RIR?

eggs looked similar .... but had some darker pits in it ... not sure --- but got 2 eggs yesterday

My blue orphington laid her first egg today-- yipee!!!
She is 28.5 weeks old and her comb still isn't all that developed. She started squatting about four days ago so I was hoping it would be soon. Sure enough, this afternoon there was a very light brown egg. I had already gotten a dark brown egg from my barred rock (who laid her first egg a month and a half ago) this morning, so I know its the blue orph.

The most obvious hint of egg laying to come is my cockerel mounting the girls. And they only mount the one who is ready. lolol
