BO Gender check

My dh and I are at odds on this, I almost had him convinced I was right and someone else came along and said he was. I think both of these are girlies, he says and his friend says they are roos. The darker one in the first picture is supposedly around 10 months old, we bought her/him from a local breeder. The lighter one, I raised, and is around 6 months old.
Sorry they are not the best, if you need better ones I can take some. They just won't be still.

#1 looks like a roo to me, I think I see saddle feathers in the pic but it's hard to tell. The other looks like a pullet.

If that roo is truly 10 mo old he should be crowing.

There's no way that male is 10 months old....WOW.

Look at the back part close to his tail. You can see some pointy saddle feathers have snuck in on you.

First one looks like a rooster but if he's 10 months old he is having an identity crisis. The second one is a hen.

Dh is going to be ticked. He bought that one as a hen. Then the guy said 10 months old, hello, pullet. He bought it anyway. Then he decided it was a roo when he got home, but I wasn't convinced, Now he has a rather expensive roo!!!

Also, he said that our roo was trying to breed the dark one the other day. I just saw him chasing it, so

could be his imagination and the roo was just checking him out.
