Hi I have 2 eight week old BO roos from a straight run dozen chicks (4 others as well, six and six!). They are acting really sweet much sweeter than the eight week old EE roos. My question is this: I was thinking I had to get rid of five of the roos but I want to keep both of the BO roos. In the end I will have 19 hens (I now have eight full grown, six "teenagers" the eight week olds and six two week old hens). Is two roos a good idea? the full grown hens are older, I don't really know how old, they were given to me. I'm still in my first year of having chickens so I need HELP! thanks!

You can keep two but you have to keep seperate coupes for them. Then just give the bigger rooster to the girls.

My one rooster died a few days ago and his hens are much bigger than my second rooster. BUT the second rooster is already taking over their coupe even though he has one with hens his size!

So I would think as long as he can "get away" slowly introduce them. Granted I free range during the day so there is plenty of room for all my girls and Roster. That was how he started off with them. It took about a week and he is now in their coupe sleeping as we speak.

WE are getting a second Rooster this week for the rest of the girls.
