My buff Orpington pullet, Ophelia, is not quite herself today. When I let the chickens out this morning she kind of lagged behind. When she did come out she was favoring one of her legs. She holds it up and limps. She has been slowly limping from one resting place to another. She even turned her beak up at the leftover tomatoes and zuchinni I gave them (a group favorite). When I went to look for eggs and clean the coop. I noticed a shell-less egg had been laid at the top of the roost. I am wondering if it might be her first egg. Also, since there was no shell, could she be egg bound? Just injured? How do I treat either and what should I look for? Thank you.

I was able to catch her, not hard...she didn't turn her beak up at the meal worms I offered. There are no new visible injuries. She is missing a toe nail on the foot she is favoring, but that has been missing for a long time. There is no swelling around the missing claw. I wonder if she injured herself falling off the roost or something?
