Too bad. All the hens and other roosters are thrilled he's in jail!

If, he had been a little better behaved, he wouldn't have ended up in there.

I threw this together from some left over roofing and a few 2 x 4s. He has a roost, PVC pipe feeder, lots of shade and a 2nd hand waterer. It is 3' x 9' and weighs about 150 lbs. Winds have only hit 30 mph since he moved in, so we don't know when he'll get blown away. Easy to move with a hand truck. I think I'm into this thing about $30.

UPDATE 5/31/2009 - Some of you may remember the story of Bob and his lack of social skills. He was parrolled a couple of weeks ago and was just not the same old Bob. He was having trouble being accepted back into society and just sat by all by himself away from all the other chickens. A broken spirt of a chicken, was all that remained of the once proud super rooster. The only ones that would hang around with him were the youngsters.
Today, we had a nice couple from a nearby farm come over and pick up some 16 week olds, to add to their roosterless flock. They agreed to take Bob. So, Bob now has a flock of his very own.
A true happy ending to the sad story of Bob. He went to live on a farm.

I had two others in with him for awhile. The dominant roo was keeping everybody in line until we let them all out for a day. Bob had a problem adjusting to his new freedom. It appears he has become a career criminal.

this question is a little left field...but can you explain the little set up to the right on the tractor? Is that a food dispenser or water maybe?? It looks like something I could use if I knew how to make it...

aww poor bob. we have to split up my drakes. the two crested get along fine, but the dominant duck....not so much. it was his day to get locked up today and he was crying the whole time. he paced back and forth until he made a path in the grass. he missed his girly!

bob is probably planning to escape. our dominant duck tried to today. flew to the top and then was too fat to get any higher!

That is his feeder. It's a piece of 4" PVC pipe with two elbows on the bottom to make a "J". I didn't have a 4" cap laying around, so, the pink coffee can is good for now. It gravity feeds down the pipe, through the wall and up into the elbow. The end elbow was a little deep for them to reach into, so, it is shortened up a little. Does this all make sense?
