Bob White Quail

Hi, last spring I bought my wife 6 little quail. She has one male and 5 females. We live in Alabama, does anyone know if we can expect eggs from the little critters this year? If so when should we expect to start seeing eggs?

Been feeding them gamebird feed and egg shells, Do you have any suggestions on feed?

Bobs usually start laying when the daylight time is about 13.5 - 14 hours, so, using Central Alabama coordinates my bet for first egg date in late May early June, and the laying season ending in early August.

Yes I do crush them into tiny pieces( food processor) and add a bit to their feed. Guess I'd better stop that, sure dont want em eatin the eggs
