bob white quail

as I was sitting out back, I heard bob whites singing. Do both sexes sing?

The classic "Buh bob WHITE!" call is pure male, calling for a female. However, the female does a different kind of call that I can't explain in words...

How cool to hear them in the wild... we don't have them here as a native species. We can raise them, but cannot let them loose. I try to make their pen as habitat-friendly as possible because of it.

I love the call of a bobwhite it's cute..lol

and to me when your up close to them sounds like there purring..
