I have a four or five-month old Giant Gersey hen who's getting pecked by the other (14) chickens. She's one of four Giant Jersey's of that age, and seemed to be doing fine at first, although she was always a bit scrawnier. I've now been keeping her in a pet carrier inside the coop for close to four weeks, because I noticed that she was hiding under stumps, trying to get away from the other chickens. She seems to be eating and drinking fine, although she doesn't aim at grains, but rather seems to use the hit and miss method. None of the other chickens are exhibiting similar symptoms, and she does not have worms. She mostly stands, with her head slowly sinking, then she pulls it back up. I'm starting to think that maybe she got pecked in the head and suffered some brain damage, or maybe blindness? She doesn't seem distressed. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? Her condition seems to neither improve nor get worse.
