Bobcats and domestic cats cannot cross breed. There have a different number of chromosomes. I've seen lots of pics of some that look like they are but they are not.
Bobcats are one of the easiest animals to live trap too. Just wire a dead chicken in the back of your cage and put lots of feathers around. If using a leghold make sure they can only come in by stepping in your trap. Put a stick in front of the trap so they step over it and into your trap.
