I’ve had a few hatched now of bobwhite and more than once I’ve had chicks randomly died off in the brooder. I found a dead chick today, they were all running around eating and scratching the bedding. These are more than 2 weeks old already. Temperature is fine, so I’m not sure what the reason is. Any thoughts?

What temperature are they at? Do they have a warm and a cool side? Can you post pictures of your set up? What are you feeding them?
They’re in a 100 gallons tank, yes the temperature been at 95f for the last two weeks. The food and water is the opposite end of the heat lamp. There are only 11 of them in there. Seems strange to me that one died after almost 3 weeks. I would think if they’re going to died it would a day or two after hatching. The food I’ve been giving them is purina starter, has 30% protein. My coturnix chicks seems to be doing great on it. Maybe the bobs are just not as hardy as babies?

I'm sorry about your bobwhites.

Without much information, it's hard to say. It could be a disease, poor genetics, competition, ect.

Unfortunately, quail chicks have a high mortality rate.

I don’t know about the development rate of bobwhite quail, but it sounds like they could be trying to fly and breaking their necks, if you’re not seeing blood or injuries.
