New to bobwhite, but have had jumbo coturnix (and chickens) for several years.
This spring I bought 1,2 bobwhites from a guy who new nothing about bobwhites, he sold them as Virginia, but one of the females where obviosly a mexican speckled. So I got a male mexican to go with her. I expexted Virginia and mexican colored from them, but I'm now puzzled with what I have got and hope someone can help me with the colors?
The Virginia couple startede laying first and I got 2 chicks in the first hatch (togethet with cots). They are now 11 week and looks like this. Definetely not Virginia!
I think they are orange? and the top one male and bottom female.
From the next hatch, also the mexican were laying and this hatch is now 7 week. And lots of colors. Some (majority) look like the ones from first hatch, but then there are these
Which I think is mexican. Another one (left bird)
The right bird in the above picture looks like a Virginia.
Then there are some odd colors
There are 2 of those, the other is in the back of the above picture. What is this color. I have no clue
And finally a single one that looks grey to me.

5 colors from 2 couples is pretty OK
So please help with the naming of the colors
