Bobwhite feathers look ruffled, normal?

Hello, total newbie here been lurking for a while. Got my first quail on April 29th one male and three females about a year old and laying. Two if the females feathers look all mess up. Is this normal?

Oh, bobwhites are so cute! Normally I'd say over breeding, but with bobwhites it's usually recommended to have just 1 or 2 females with a male, so I don't think over breeding is very likely when you have 3. Perhaps it's just a weird molt or something, but I'd spend some time watching them from a distance and see if any kind of aggression is going on. Perhaps the last female wants the male for herself.
