I was mowing the grass yesterday, when to my surprise one of my half grown Georgia Giants roos ran out of the grass just ahead of the mower... He ran for 20 ft or so and took flight for another 20' or so, and landed back near the quail pens. He then scooted off into the field behind my house.
This surprised me on several levels, mostly one of my birds being out. But also because all my birds are pinioned and this guy got off the ground for longer than I expected a pinioned bird could.
Well then I went to see how he could have got out and how many more were gone. As you likely already figured, it turned out not to be one of my birds at all, but a wild bird attempting to win the favor of one of my girls.
I have been hearing wild birds for a week now back there. This is not unusual, there are lots of wild bobs around here.
I have never had daughters, but I feel a little un-easy about this new "wild bird" showing interest in my girls..... I WILL BE WATCHING HIM!!!! Bill
