Bobwhite quail suddenly died on me

What are some reasons for one of my bobs to suddenly die on me? I was feeding them and saw that one of them was just laying there with its eyes closed kind of puffed up so I picked it up and gave it some water and it started throwing up blood, could maybe a rat have gotten to it the night before? It's sealed up pretty tight so I'm not sure what could of happened to the little guy. Any ideas?

This has nothing to do with quail, and you are completely wrong about that flag. Its a Texas flag. Learn your facts before you go complain when you're wanting help with quail.
