Hi, I live in Connecticut and am on a mission for my husband. Last year a friend of his gave him some quails. He was told they were Bobwhites but to his dismay they are what we believe are Button quails. Anyway, he is trying to find Bobwhites and has been unsuccessful. Does anyone know where,in Connecticut he can get Bobwhites. We checked out Macormick's hatchery but he is not interested in getting 100.

Thank you for any help.

Welcome to BYC!

Most hatcheries are going to have a minimum on quail of 50 or 100 birds. So you might want to start in our quail section and ask around there in hopes some one in your area can sell you a handful of birds....

You can also stop by your state thread and ask around to see if anyone in your area keeps Bobwhites...

Good luck finding some Bobwhites! I keep them too. Fun little bird to keep. Welcome to our flock!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! TwoCrows gave you some good links to check out. You might also look into hatching eggs if you can't find a small number of birds in driving distance.

I couldn't find recent posts on those sites but will post a request for them on both sites. My husband wants 25 chicks. He said he's had no luck in the past with eggs. We do have an incubator and have been successful hatching out Button quail. He started with 25 of them and has close to 100 at this point. He has about a 90% hatch rate with our own eggs.
