Has anybody ever seen a bobwhite male start to molt and then come back in as a female ?

Sorry, couldn't resist. That's something that's impossible. They can act like the other sex but will not become the other sex.

This one was mating with a female first of the year making fertile eggs. Maybe he has not colored out all the way yet I was reading about a female losing the ovary they start out life with and switching to the other one and in the process having a few male characteristics then settling out back to a female. I was just wondering ??? thanks

Perhaps off topic but there are quite a few cases of ring neck pheasant hens who molt into male patterns when there is a rooster shortage. However, they are not male, do not grow the wattles and don't have spurs. I have never heard of Bobs doing it, and I raise them. I wonder what the ratio in ( I assume they are in a colony) your cage is ?
