I had my quail in the pen with a delaware hen and I caught her eating one of the quail eggs. So, I moved a pair of bobs into the empty brooder a few days ago. I got home from work today and the female was eating her fresh egg. Will they do this if they are not getting enough calcium, and will they stop? I think the chicken is also eating her own eggs. Help!

Do They Get Any Suppliments? What Are You Feeding Them? Personally Anytime I've Had An Egg Eater It Never Turned Out Well For Me, So All Mine Get Relocated To Camp Kenmore. Especially The Chickens! You Can Try Bumping The Protien % Up On Their Feed And Giving Her Crushed Oyster Shell And Hopefully This Will Help--- Good Luck

Thanks. I have been lax about supplements. I will give her 28% protein and shells and see what that does. I gave the chicken hen an egg full of dishwashing detergent and she loved it. Ate it all. She has one foot in the frying pan.
