Bobwhites, humidity for lockdown?!

Alright perfect, I got a brinsea ecoglow ordered! Was going to use heat lamp in case it didnt get here on time, and no I dont have a heating pad where could I get one!?
They sell heating pads at my grocery store.
Pharmacies, Walmart type stores.

I never thought about plastic with heat lamps! Were you thinking fumes from melted plastic, or something less dangerous?
Well I'm sure exactly what I think, but I just don't like the plastic containers for anything, although I did use one for a few days myself with a regular light bulb, not a heat lamp.

The first day or so I had my quailies in a plastic container thing like this (eta this is the wrong photo...I added the one I originally wanted in the post below)

Then I moved them to a bird cage...I turned it on its side.

I don't know if you can tell but I prefer to feed a wet mash feed to my brand new babies and I serve it in jar lids.
Water too...I leave it in a shallow dish with some marble like things in it so they don't fall in and drown.

Also something that I hadn't thought about with my baby quail...the crumble feed is too big for new babies.
Some people put it in a blender to grind it into smaller pieces but I just stuck some in a zip lock bad and beat it with a mallet.

Paper towels work really well for the first week too.
Easy to pick one up and replace it, even easier if you put multiple layers of them down.
