They won't start laying till next spring or when they are older than 6 months old.

They are seasonal egg layers and lay mostly in the spring. They lay one egg a day as long as they have around 14 hours of sunlight. Adding artificial light will not make them lay all year round, but it may make their egg season a bit longer.
