Hi everyone! I’m Erin, and my husband and I started keeping chickens in 2012. Aside from chickens, we have 9 ducks, 2 goats, a cat, and a Flemish Giant rabbit. I’m an artist and love to paint chickens and all the things inspired by hobby farming and the country life. I share my art and some peeks at our backyard farm on Instagram @erinreinholtzart and would love to connect there, as well. Say hello if you find me!

I’m always learning more and more and having new experiences with my flock. We currently have 23 hens of various breeds and a buff orp rooster— our first roo ever who isn’t a total jerk. 🧡

I learned of BYC at the start, while researching and am just joining the forums now because my it was helpful when we had our first encounter with scaly leg mites recently.

My favorite thing is when they give me that look— direct eye contact, a tilt of the head, like they’re asking “what the cluck are you looking at?”

Welcome to BYC! Just wondering, how do you like the Flemish Giant . I have been looking for German Giants but can't seem to find any in the US. Enjoy your membership :frow
Thank you! I love him. He’s really calm. I’ve never heard of a German Giant, but Flemish and Continentals are great!
