I have some nicely aged bantam eggs in the fridge I want to devil for church potluck this Sunday. Anyone have a good time for these little things? I usually do 13-14 min with full size eggs, just wondering if anyone has experience with these. Thx.

I know it's too late ( being Sunday already--LOL) but all I have is Banty eggs. I use the "perfect boiled egg" recipe & they're great every time. Put eggs in a single layer in a pan. Cover with water + 1" or so extra. Heat until water boils strongly. Turn heat off immediately, cover pan, & set timer for 10 minutes. At the end of 10 minutes pour off hot water, rinse in cold water a couple of times, then cover eggs in cold water to which you add a few ice cubes. Let cool 15 more minutes & they're done.

Thanks. I decided I'd rather have them a little over done than underdone. Since I was devilling them, a little gray-ringed yolk wasn't going to kill anyone. I started like you did, then let them boil for a minute or two, then turned off the heat and let them set for I think 10 or 11 minutes, then rinse. I let them set until morning, made bacon devilled eggs (crumbled bacon and bacon grease in the yolk mixture) and they just VANISHED! I had a few gray rings, and a few yolks with that little undercooked spot in the middle, so I'll probably just do pretty much this in the future. Everyone loved how cute they were!

Just made bantum deviled eggs for picnic tonight. Mmmmmm. They are so darn cute too! I used dill. But the bacon sounds divine!:D. I boil mine for 12 minutes in already boiling water. Worked well.

SO if you have a steamer, I make my boiled eggs in a steamer when possible. 12-14 min in my wolfgang puck steamer and I get perefect boiled eggs every time. I then just put them in ice water and peel them while they are warm. 8 min for an over easy steamed egg. The white will be done, but the yolk will still be soft. I like this method because it's faster (or feels faster to me anyway), and they always seem to peel easier. That last part may be my imagination though.
