boiled malted barley?

i make my own beer ... in the process i buy malted barley and boil it

what is leftover is a little sugary

can i feed it to my week old chicks?

um wouldnt that be a little yeasty? I wouldnt.

No...you add yeast later. The malting process just sprouts the grain and converts some sugars.

As a treat I don't see why that would be a problem.

You could probably freeze them in portion controlled bags and just pull one out of the freezer every once in a while.

all the grains are pulled out halfway through the boiling process .... yeast isn't added until it has cooled down to 90 degree's
