Boiled Peanuts??

Ok, long story short.... I think yall would say "DW" (my wife is worth the extra 2 keys..... an a whole lot more, but if two letters is enough 'round here I guess it is what it is) and I heated up some store bought boiled peanuts last night. Tried something new and the flavor was 'BBQ' ..... it was 'ok' just didn't feel right with that taste and the mush of the nut.... best to stick with the 'cajun flavor' any way..... not wanting anything go to waist, I rensed off the nuts (and shells) planning on feeding them to my chicks.... well I wasn't sure about the shells as they are kinda .... 'stringy'??

well today my wife shelled all the bbq boiled nuts and I am wondering if they are OK to give to chicks?

I don't see why not. Peanuts are a good source of nutrition, boiled or not.
