I posted recently about needing to rehome 2 roosters.

Question - I have a hen and a rooster, both 6 months old. They were brooder mates and very bonded. Can I rehome the rooster without her? Will she be heartbroken? Should I try to rehome both together as a bonded pair?

What did you end up doing? I'm facing a similar situation with a bonded pair of hens.

Ok thanks! I might have to do that too since I don't want sad hens lol

Ha ha, I’m the same - never want anyone to be sad. I do think it probably could have gone either way. Like someone else posted, they do get over it. (Like I’ve had chickens die and the survivors go on fine after a few days) But my friend wanted the hen as well as the rooster, so it was easier that way in this case. Good luck.
