I fed meal worms as their first snack at age 3 wks. The meal worms are tiny 1/4 - 1/2 inch in size.
I don't know where you are but maybe you could go dig up some earth worms and cut up some little ones if you don't have a Petsmart/Petco or bait shop.
Scrambled eggs in tiny pieces held in your hand would go over as well.
When mine were 3-6 wks old, I prefered to give them things that had protein in them.
At 6 wks, I started giving grass, shredded cabbage, earth worms, uncooked oatmeal.
