Bone crunching

Why do I hear bones crunching sound when I pick up my chicken. It doesn't seem to pain her, she is eating, comb is bright red. She walks too slowly with calculated steps but can run when she needs to. She doesn't scoot around like the others. She sometimes is separated from the other chickens. Presently, I have her isolated and she seems. When she is caged, her tail feathers are up but when she is with the other chickens, her tail feathers are down...flat backed. What is wrong with her?
