Yay and the chick pooped.. Nasty but such good signs for me.. I feel like we're going in the right direction, slowly but surely. The chick acts like it wants something other then pedialite, but won't take anything else. Could I try feeding it non flavored yogurt? It's chirping ALOT but is under a light and I keep trying to offer it pedialite, but acts like it's tired of it. Why is that?

If it will eat the yogurt, go for it. Get some crickets or mealworms and force feed it those. Keep offering it Pedialyte and/or water, too.

Crickets are hard to catch around here. Could the meal worms be dried? Or do they have to be alive? I know where to get the dried ones.

Wet the chick's feed and add some scrambled egg. By day 3 they should really start eating...

As far as being tired baby chicks sleep alot.

Petco and Petsmart should have live crickets and mealworms.

Hmm I've never seen them there. Oh and I know chicks sleep alot, but this baby was asleep 24-7 is just now waking up for atleast a few moments

Are you sure? I have to run a 250 watt, but maybe I live somewhere colder? It should be around 95 degrees in your brooder.

Yes I'm sure. My chicks stay in doors till they get most of their feathers then they go outside. My room is pretty warm, plus the 60 watt bulb, stays pretty darn warm. I'll wind up sweating at times.
