After caring for our 12 chicks for nearly 5 weeks the roosters have just flown the coop to a farm outside in Canbera. My daughter and I are a liitle sad to see them go.

Sorry your little boys had to leave, it is sad to see the little guys go, it seems like most of the time the little roos wind up being the favorite chicks. Hope the girls do well for you.

Thanks Kelsie. They look a little just now. It is easier to spend time with 6 than 12 though. K

my rooster started to crow but i don't know which. he was very quiet about it
blue andelusian and an Americauna they have short combs which are good for winter.

I was just lucky - I hope. They were also free and all the other ads for roosters at the same time were at least $10. The man lives on a property and was looking for roosters to top up. He has chooks for meat and eggs. Mine were bantams so am hopeful they won't be much good for meat.
