Border Collie...mutt??

PS gorgeous dog and such a sweet face! And gsd means German shepherd dog. Also forgot to mention that black and white Australian shepherds can look a lot like borders, but that the body build looks more like a border to me. Again though, no expert by any means. XD

lol thanks, she was given to us by some people who used her for hearding cattle but she was always kept in a pen when not needed for the cattle, they gave her to us cuz she needed more attention then what they could give, she was 2 years old when we got her, 10 years old now. they said she was pure breed. but she dnt look it. very good dog tho, very friendly

She looks like a reverse colored border collie. I dont think she would look so un-purebred is her colors went the other way. She very well could be pure.

Look up *piebald* border collies.

Hm,
Looks like they knew her history a bit. Working line dogs can have a lot of variety to their look. They have DNA tests for like, thirty bucks on Ebay that uses just a simple cheek swab. That's cool about the reverse border collies. Hadn't heard of that before.

She is gorgeous, And I agree with everyone, I think she has some kind of Shepard in her, she looks like a border collie, but has the body of a shepard. I have a border collie, and he has a sleeker body that that.

purebred Border Collie -- IMO

Her ears are a little on the large side for a border collie, definitely very shepherd-ish. But that doesn't necessarily mean she isn't "purebred." Particularly if she is from working lines, which she would just about have to be if her previous owners were using her for herding cattle. Breeders of working lines breed for working ability first and foremost and more or less ignore conformation unless it is something that would detract from a dog's working ability so there can be a lot of variation from the "written standard" in the working lines. She could very well be purebred, just...I hesitate to say "poorly bred" because a dog that doesn't look anything like what we think a "typical" border collie looks like can be the best working dog in the world in which case the breeder produced exactly what they were aiming for...let's just say different from what we imagine as normal.

BTW, she is striking! That black on her nose really makes her stand out.
