Boredom busters

Chick's have their own space in the coop, but they've started to seem bored. What types of things can I do to keep them entertained till they get to integrate and free range.

Space is 12x12 with 2 dozen chicks that are 7ish weeks old.

i seen that if you hang up a lettuce or cabbage in the coop they will peck at it. IT will keep them stimulated.

Oh. Well my chickens love it lol

Chickens do entertain themselves by pecking and scratching and dust bathing. A cabbage to peck is a good entertainment, so is a dust bath and I also give the chicks a bucket of moist soil from my vegetable garden so they can scratch and find the bugs and worms buried in the soil.

Of course they do! But something as simple as a bag of dried leaves can also provide hours of entertainment and a bit of exercise without filling their bellies.

You can add swings and perches they enjoy those, and dust bathing spaces if you don’t have already

A wooden chair, a roost, food, water, and a mini baby roost.

Of course they do! But something as simple as a bag of dried leaves can also provide hours of entertainment and a bit of exercise without filling their bellies.

Someday I'd like to put together something like this with an old bicycle wheel. Most pictures of these contraptions show that people routinely don't cover the spokes, with the bird only running on the tire (seems dangerous to me). This design has a platform covering the spokes that the bird runs on:
