One tip I have is the background. Make sure the background is nice and there's not too much going on. That's one of the biggest things for me.

I've been shopping around for a camera, my T7 was stolen so I've been missing out on photography for way too long.

Well I hope whoever stole it falls down 7 flights of stairs! I've do e that! Didn't feel too good!

Shutter speeds of 1/250. plenty of light so you can still get a deep depth of field in the photo. Avoid using flash. Use a single point of focus on a target bird. The one you are trying to show off. For a group shot use a wide angle lens or the wide part of a zoom lens. Your knowledge is over half the image. The camera is part and the lens is the other part. The best equipment without some learning is worthless.

The ability of the camera/lens combo to lock a focus rapidly is also important on moving targets like moving chickens.
