I thought they dont go outside until fully feathered at about 6 to 8 weeks. They are only 4 weeks. It can drop down to the 60s or 70s at night.

Amanda, yes they are bored. They are past the age where they should be living outside with daytime access to a run, and a secure coop to sleep in. My chicks are brooded outside and wean themselves off heat around 4 weeks old when night time temps go down into 30's and 40's. Day time temps at that time are often in 40's and 50's. I've had chicks wean themselves off heat at 3 weeks also.
