So Here is the "Borg" Chicken coop. Complete with solar lighting, solar heating and cooling and security lighting. I went a little crazy, but I haven't had this much fun on a project for a long time. In the grey panel is the solar charge controller, 12 volt deep cycle battery, Heating cooling control, voltage meter and separate switches for each electrical item. We have five pullets. Oddball, Hotshot and the other three have yet to be named.

What do you think?

"Resistance" to liking your coop is "futile". Do you plan to "assimilate" further by add self waterers and feeders? Sorry, the nerd in me took over for a minute. ;-)
That is some nice engineering. What will your solar heater raise the inside temp to?

I already have self feeding and water nipples. They have taken to it well. Not sure on the heating levels. Its been really hot here, so getting an accurate reading on temp rise has been "futile". Hopeing for 5-20 deg. If I'm lucky. That part is really an experiment. I didn't find anyone else who has tried this. Maybe they have, but I didn't find it.
