I added this one to my coop. We repurposed an old grain bin into a coop and I wanted to make sure it had a fan that was controlled by thermostat and hygrometer. It is a small bin, 14 foot diameter, but it required the 16 inch fan to move the air adequately. The controls allow me to input high and low temperature and humidity triggers that turn the fan on and off without me having to monitor, which was important as we are often gone during the day and I wanted it to kick on at night if necessary. It also has manual settings so you can just turn it on and off when you choose if you prefer that. The fan has varying speeds so it starts slow and if that is enough, it stays at that rate but will increase or decrease fan speed as needed when set on automatic. I have only had the fan for a few weeks but it has made a noticeable difference in the coop temperature. It has kicked on for humidity a couple of times but I live in central Illinois so humidity is just something we live with during the summer. I am more interested in that during the winter but have no experience with that currently. It isn’t quiet but no louder than the box fan I had in there before purchasing this fan. Ours is hardwired (son is an electrical apprentice so that helps!) and I don’t remember if there is a solar option or not. I was concerned about solar not generating enough power on cloudy days to move the amount of air required by my coop. Hope this helps! Good luck!
