Lol, I have a hen like that and we named her boss chicken. Yes I know not very original but we name ours based of their personality’s. Bessy seems like she thinks she could take on the cat lol!

She already has! I couldn't believe when I saw her run right up to him and just start pecking away until she had fur in her beak! You can't really tell from the pic, but he's a Maine Coon, so pretty huge for a cat. He's about 30 pounds, and so far Bessy is the only thing I've seen him run from. Lol

Bessy is one tuff little chicken! Especially if she is taking on such a large animal compared to her lol!

I was horrified when she went after him, for sure. Before I let the girls out of their run to free range, I made sure the cat wasn't going to try to hunt them. I'm guessing that since all the girls(10) grew up inside in our spare room, he knows they're not for hunting. As long he gives up his food, he's safe... Crazy chicken! So now, I just have to keep a spare food bowl for him up on his "sunning" platform, out of chicken reach.
