ChicknGurl and nickki99.. Thank you, but don't be so sorry. It wasn't a pet. I think it touched me like that because the bird itself is so helpless and under my care and protection.. I will be much better prepared if anything like this ever happens again..

dlhunicorn... Neither... The bird I found dead this morning was in the same coop the one with both eyes swollen shut originally come from. In the morning I will know if I got a genuine problem in that coop.
