Hi
I'm at day seven of my incubation of eggs. Our machine is home made and I've placed the eggs in an old egg carton with pointy end of eggs down and the carton is then "tipped" by placing a piece of plastic under the carton to get an angle for the eggs. I change the side three times a day so that the angle changes.
Today I candled the eggs and three have embryos, nice bloodvessels and a little moving lump. Yay. BUT the last one/third, one/fourth of the egg, the part placed down, is just clear. This is the case for all three living eggs.
So my question is: is this ok? Will the fetus contiune to grow downwards and everything will be peachy? Or is there a problem? As I said, the signs of life are the best I've ever seen.

I can see the air-sac clearly and I see a difference between the top (fat part) and the bottom. The bottom (pointy end) is just egg, no line that would indicate that there is an additional air-sac or anything. My eggs look like the day six, day seven eggs from the candling pictures, just that the bottom parts have no blood vessels in them, like they haven't reached that far down. I wish I'd taken a picture, but I didn't think about it, and now I don't want to disturb them more.
But yeah, everything looks very normal except that the vessels aren't going down to the bottom part of the egg. Last hatch I had I had the eggs laying more on the side, and not in a carton, and got the more regular patterns of vessels, like you can see in most candling pictures.

I might just worry for nothing, but it just looked strange, and I haven't found any pictures like what I saw, so I thought I should ask instead of just worry. Maybe someone had seen the same or know something.

Try not to panic :hugs
From what you have described they sound normal. As the embryo and then chick grows it should fill the egg and more defined stronger veining should be seen. You have veins and a good embryo so they should be fine. Next time you candle if you get the chance take a pic and post it, to keep us updated. Good luck with them :fl

Thank you for the support. I just get so stressed out, I mean it's life in there and I don't want it to die cause of something I did or didn't do.
I'll try and take pictures next time I candle, and do a little update
