Bought some 2 week old duckings at auction, want them to be at peace with me

For now just hang out with them and be calm. Once they know they can trust you they'll become much more comfortable. When they get a bit older and start getting treats, frozen peas are the way to go. I buy a 2 pound bag of great value frozen peas and that lasts quite a while.
Here are some pics of my ducklings and set up for now. I intend on getting them outside in the large enclosed meadow they will share with my 18 chickens. My question is, once I turn them out, how will I get them back in? I'm afraid they will hide in the brush and not come in at night, with the hens.

Mine did a decent job at following the chickens inside at night when I had mynfirst group. But I also had a light on in the coop, so they might have just gone for the light until they were trained to go there

Awe, look at the babies :love

The best way to handle that is to have an area just for the ducks in the coop. Wait a couple weeks before you let them out and then just open a door for them and let them explore on their own. They won’t go far at first. Keep their food and a little pool nearby and they’ll stick pretty close usually.

I have chickens and ducks. They don’t sleep together. In fact, once my ducks were about laying age they refused to go back in the coop at night. There are lots of areas for them to sleep under cover so I don’t force it.

Other folks here do have ducks that go to a coop, maybe ask the question as a separate thread for better help with that.
