Bought some new chicks and ended up with a unique baby

so I got a new small batch of chicks out of the assorted bantam ben at my local feed store. We don't get to pick right now because of covid, i didn't notice till I got home one of the chicks appears to have a birth defect of a missing eye. Any special care

IMO, they owe you a refund or a replacement chick.

Not getting to pick your chicks is one thing. Selling a defective chick is quite another matter.

No retailer should ever be able to use a crisis to pass off defective merchandise at full price.

You’re chick should be able to lead a normal life. Especially since she/he has never had it she/he will just adapt to it.

Still complain politely to the store, if not another chick maybe they will give you some other credit? I’m heading into pick up two bags of free feed today as an appeasement for the covid protocols and staff refusing to help us because it was too “close to close” and stranding my husband on another island in our truck overnight... it never hurts to see what compensation they will offer.

If it's just a missing eye it should adjust and be fine without it. I'd check for any other issues - like in the straight on photo of the head, the head looks a little wonky to me, like the skull is slightly misshapen.

Should also add, even if you can't actually "pick" out the chicks due to Covid restrictions, they really should let you visually inspect all of them before you buy. I watched as the employee grabbed each chick so I could watch their behavior (and I said no to a very friendly one, as that could be a male) and she held each chick up so I could check that heads looked right, feet looked right, etc.
